Disease Conditions in Bones

Fractures are the most common conditions occur in Bones. There are two type of fractures in daily life.
1. Simple fracture
2. Compound fracture

The primary aim of treating fractures are

the attainment of sound bony union without deformity and the restoration of function then that we can able to get rid of his or pain and get in to his normal life.

Most of the time internal fixation of a fracture can give rapid healing other than ordinary treatments so we would be able to heal them as soon as possible.
But in most cases the treatment is not compatible with the fracture so this will give a wrong outcome.

How we can give the priority for treatments -
First we would suggest that this fracture was by patients sole condition or by external effect. If it is by patient's sole compliance we can proceed without any delay. Because we can collect enough information by patient him self.
Also if the patient is unconscious we would have to be more careful Because this can be due to effect of skull or spinal code. If the situation is similar to above mention we should treat for them as soon as possible before going for other treatments.

If there is no any other nervous damage we should immediately see weather there is a respiratory  obstruction occurred or not. If so we should clean the obstruction as soon as possible to get his or her breathing pattern in to normal. Most of the time this is due to vomiting of the patient if it is the problem we should lie down the patient left side so the vomit particle can be remove easily as the stomach is in left side of the body.
If you found any damage in to the lungs you should immediately go for a underwater seal or other wise he or she can suffer from tension pneumothorax.
If you found a evidence of pneumothorax you should drain the liquid by water draining method.

In the next post I hope to talk about Head injuries ....
